Rabbit has been incarcerated for most of his live, starting in jury to the state prison system. After being paroled an on his own for the first time, Rabbit turns to the only means of survival he knows crime. After robbing a convenient store, he avoids the police by breaking into a nearby suburban home.
The home belongs to the family of a young man named Geordy, who's alone for the week while his parents vacation in Europe. On the verge of leaving for his Mormon mission, Geordy feels trapped an conflicted with the life that he wants and his parents expectations.
Rabbit takes Geordy hostage and over the course of three days, the two are driven to the edge as they realized they're not as different as they seem.
