The musical "Adam and Steve Just the Way God Made 'Em" is an off-Broadway musical that is just beginning previews. Paul (Daniel Robinson) and Eddie (Joey Dudding) are in the cast and their lives reflect the roles they play. Paul looks for the one perfect man for him and Eddie is dealing with his sexuality and his faith. Paul realizes after a disastrous dating experience that he is finished with going out and he just wants to be a slut like so many others in the show. Eddie is faced with having to tell his parents that he is not only gay but starring in a show that refers to the Bible as "Breeder's Informational Book of Living Examples". Directors Casper Andreas and Frank M.Caruso try very hard to get this film moving. The characters are loveable and we can identify with them and many of the themes of the film are the themes that we live with on a daily basis. The film, I guess, cannot be classified as musical comedy-the music is quite good and the actors do very well. What the problem is that I see is that there are too many clichés. Something that we see here that we do not often see in musical comedy is realism. Steve Hayes as God walks away with the movie-he has some of the best lines. I like this kind of entertainment and the time flew by as I watched. It's clever and sweet and even with its problems, it is still delightful entertainment.
